Diamonds and Pearls

I have finally started making some progress on my wedding day outfit!  But first...

So anyone who is not planning on marrying me is welcome to join me after the jump.

JUMP!

I scored some sweet bridal bracelet bargains on ebay!  My dress has some pearl and gemstone detailing so I wanted to find a pearl/gem bracelet.  I searched high and low on etsy, jcrew.com and other typical jewelry places.

Unfortunately I was feeling very stingy and didn't want to spend $75 on a bracelet I would probably only wear once or twice.  I fully intend on spending some dough for a couple of quality wedding pieces to pass down to future generations however I don't think the type of bracelet I want will stand the test of time.

Where do cheap people go to get some deals?!?!  EBAY!  I love eBay.  The thrill of the hunt, the exhilaration of placing a bid and the sweet victory of winning.  Oh I can't stand the suspense anymore, let's see some bracelets.

Oooooh Ahhhhh!

So pretty and sparkly!

Just imagine them glistening in the Cape May sun!  If you notice there are two bracelets.  That is right, I splurged and bought them both for the rock bottom price of $17 for both bracelets!  I will give you a moment to let that sink in.

They are coming from Hong Kong so they will take a while to get here but I can't wait.  For $17 are they going to be lasting heirlooms?  No probably not.  Are they even going to be real?  No definitely not.  But I figure, like MamaLP's prom dress, by the time my kids are old enough to wear it on their wedding day it will be completely out of style and they will laugh at me.

So what do you think?  I know it is hard to judge since you don't know what my dress looks like.  Any bridal bargains you capitalized on lately?

  1. $17?!? Sweet deal for some sweet accessories! I say well done, well done indeed.

  2. Great finds! I love both of them! Which do you think you'll wear? I'm thinking about doing pearls as well...maybe a necklace and bracelet. Unfortunately, I have a hypersensitivity to anything not gold (Yeah, I'm high maintenance!), so probably wouldn't be able to do anything like the first bracelet you bought (at least not for the steal you got them for).

Please make sure to take pics of them when you receive them too--I'd like to see the quality, and if the pictures are accurate!

  3. What a great deal! I bought my bracelet off e-bay, too! I really wanted one from jcrew.com, but it sold out before I had the chance to get it and I didn't really want to spend the money on it. I got a VERY similar one off e-bay and it came from hong kong, too!! LOL!

  4. That is amazing! They are both gorgeous, but I am partial to the first one. So elegant. Do you mind sharing what seller it was?
