101 things in 1,001 days!

This year instead of making a New Year’s Resolution I decided to take part in the 101 in 1001 challenge.  Basically it is a list of 101 things I want to accomplish in the next 1,001 days.  Having a 1,001 days is nice because it is a over two years so I don’t have to feel pressured to get it all done in a year.  As you can tell since it is already 18 days into the New Year it has taken me a while to complete my list.  I tried to think of things that I wanted to accomplish but that could be done in less than 1,001 days.  There are tons of things I left off the list like going to Australia, having season tickets to the Redskins and redo the kitchen which I don’t think will happen in 2.75 years.

I ‘borrowed’ this idea from Claremont Road who borrowed it from someone else.  You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  Here is the logistics on the project:

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
