Because I am on a roll! Even with only 4 months to go, I have not completely abandoned anything in my life that doesn't revolve around wedding planning (yet!). Over the last couple of weeks I have managed to make some progress on my 101 list. Go me, go me!
Some have been super easy (reading books) while other I seem to be taking steps back (I actually gained pounds instead of lost). Here are some of the bigger projects that I have crossed off my list.
84. Take a vacation outside of the US
Hopefully you realized from my Royal Wedding recaps that I was in London, Baby! It was awesome. I am not sure it counts as a vacation since it was more of an obligation since we were invited (just kidding). The perfect trip to cross this off my list. Mr LP and I love to travel so I am sure I will complete this one again.
51. Clean Tarnished Jewelry
Not a very exciting one but finished none the less. I made it my goal over spring break to clean out all my old jewelry and polish the tarnished pieces. I am half way to completing #50 too. I just need to take the necklaces out of zip-lock bags and find a place to hang them.
89. Buy Art for the Living Room
I am terrible blogger and have no picture of this but I bought a lovely hand-painted abstract yellow art piece at goodwill for $12. Perfect!
Have you been able to finish any non-wedding related projects lately?

Another One Bites the Dust
Goal 101 completed! (Attend a college athletics game besides GWU) On Thursday I got to go see some of the March Madness games at the Verizon Center here in DC. Mr. LP is a huge sports guy and managed to score us tickets. At first I was only so/so about going but now I am a total convert. The games were A... wait for it.... mazing!
Not only that but I am on the Butler Bandwagon! I can't wait for my sweatshirt to arrive in the mail so I can show my bandwagon pride (no I didn't go to Butler and until a couple of days ago didn't even know where it was).
There are so many reason to support Butler. First of all, their mascot is a bulldog. So adorable!
Secondly I am convinced their head coach looks like the adult version of Harry Potter....
See what I mean!?!? Will you be joining me on the Butler Bandwagon. Let's go Dawgs!

Two Goals Down....
......Only 98 more to go! At this rate it will take me 98 months to complete this little project. I am going the break neck speed of 2 tasks a month.... somebody stop me. But this weekend I completed both tasks in a matter of 24 hours. Just call me butter because I am on a roll!
This weekend I managed to update my resume (task #23) and host a game night (#31). I know... out of control. On Saturday night Mr. LP and I hosted an impromptu game night. Mr. LP's uncle and aunt came over to bring us dining room chairs and play Apples to Apples. I wanted to play Anomia (ohmygodbestgameeverinventedbuyitnow) but it is kind of a thinking game and we had been having some adult beverages. Thinking game at our current state would probably have been a fail. People were over; games were played.... Hosted a game night! Check.
Updating my resume is totally boring so I won't put you to sleep with those details. Essentially Mr. LP had to work all weekend so I had a lot of free time on my hands.
I really need to get a 'wiggle on' with these tasks. Hopefully the month of March will be much more productive!

101 things in 1,001 days!
This year instead of making a New Year’s Resolution I decided to take part in the 101 in 1001 challenge. Basically it is a list of 101 things I want to accomplish in the next 1,001 days. Having a 1,001 days is nice because it is a over two years so I don’t have to feel pressured to get it all done in a year. As you can tell since it is already 18 days into the New Year it has taken me a while to complete my list. I tried to think of things that I wanted to accomplish but that could be done in less than 1,001 days. There are tons of things I left off the list like going to Australia, having season tickets to the Redskins and redo the kitchen which I don’t think will happen in 2.75 years.
I ‘borrowed’ this idea from Claremont Road who borrowed it from someone else. You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Here is the logistics on the project:
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
Start Date: January 1, 2011
End Date: September 28, 2013
Bold/italicized – Completed Item
Strikethrough – Replaced Item (see end of post for replacements)
